Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our team at a local metro surgery center. As a CRNA, you will be responsible for providing high-quality anesthesia care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage patients' airway or pulmonary status using techniques such as endotracheal intubation and extubating, mechanical ventilation, pharmacological support, and respiratory therapy.
  • In collaboration with clinic management, establish the type and scope of anesthesia services required to meet the needs of patients and the surgery center in an independent care team model.
  • Select, prepare, or use equipment, monitors, supplies, or drugs for the administration of anesthetics.
  • Select, order, and administer anesthetics, adjuvant drugs, accessory drugs, fluids, or blood products.
  • Perform pre-anesthetic screenings including physical evaluations and patient interviews, and document results.
  • Monitor patients' responses including skin color, pupil dilation, pulse, heart rate, blood pressure, respiration, ventilation, or urine output using invasive and noninvasive techniques.
  • Respond to emergency situations by providing airway management, administering emergency fluids or drugs, or using basic or advanced cardiac life support techniques.
  • Develop anesthesia care plans.
  • Obtain informed consent from patients for anesthesia procedures.
  • Assess patients' medical histories to predict anesthesia response.
  • Perform or manage regional anesthetic techniques such as local, spinal, epidural, caudal, nerve blocks, and intravenous blocks.
  • Evaluate patients' post-surgical or post-anesthesia responses, taking appropriate corrective actions or requesting consultation if complications occur.
  • Administer post-anesthesia medications or fluids to support patients' cardiovascular systems.
  • Discharge patients from post-anesthesia care.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of a program approved by the AANA Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthetist Education programs.
  • 5+ years of previous independent CRNA experience required.
  • Previous leadership or management experience required.
  • Current Minnesota Registered Nurse License.
  • Current certification through the National Board on Certification and Re-Certification of Nurse Anesthetists with compliance with all continuing education requirements.
  • Additional certification to include BLS and ACLS.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated leadership, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Commitment to active participation in shared accountability and decision making for the continuous improvement of the surgery centers department of nurse anesthesia.
  • Knowledge and skill in the use of computers and electronic medical record documentation.
Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a medical surgery center setting in Edina and Burnsville, MN.
