Maintenance Mechanic II Job Description

At Harry & David, we're committed to delivering smiles and inspiring human expression, connection, and celebration. As a Maintenance Mechanic II, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our food processing machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily maintenance on complex equipment, including food processing machinery, to prevent downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to identify and correct weaknesses, extending equipment life and reducing maintenance costs.
  • Diagnose and repair equipment issues, including mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems, using advanced tools and machinery.
  • Design and fabricate parts and complex systems for modification, replacement, or repair, using CNC machines, metal lathes, and milling machines.
  • Weld and fabricate stainless steel and aluminum components, ensuring high-quality finishes and tight tolerances.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules, reducing downtime and improving overall equipment efficiency.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial environment, with a strong mechanical aptitude and experience with hand tools, power tools, and basic machining tools.
  • Previous experience with lockout/tagout, hot work permits, confined space awareness, chemical hazard communication, and food safety is a plus.
