Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join LeoStella LLC as a Staff/Principal Structural Analysis Engineer. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing structural analysis on spacecraft and launch vehicle structures and components.

You will work closely with our program management and other engineers to collect analysis input, communicate results, and establish and manage the program structural analysis plan.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing and documenting finite element analysis results for modal, stress, and vibration analysis
  • Developing and maintaining component, subassembly, and satellite level finite element models (FEMs)
  • Creating and executing structural test plans and procedures for vibration, shock, and static loads
  • Developing and maintaining structural analysis software tools
  • Seeking out new technologies, tools, and approaches to maintain LeoStella's position as a leader in efficient space system engineering

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor of Science (or greater) degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar engineering discipline
  • 8+ years of professional experience performing structural analysis on spacecraft or launch vehicle structures and components
  • Ability to set up and perform structural analysis on satellite components, satellite systems, launch vehicle adapters, and other complex integrated assemblies
  • Demonstrated successful experience performing static, modal, and vibration analyses to generate predictions for forces, stresses, deflections, and vibration responses
  • Proficiency with NASTRAN analysis software and Femap/Patran pre-/post-processors

Desired qualifications include experience working in a vibration test lab and developing analysis and test results processing tools using Excel, MATLAB, and/or Python.

LeoStella LLC offers a competitive compensation package, including a base salary range of $130K-$180K + 10% target bonus, as well as additional employee benefits such as employer-paid medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, short and long-term disability, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
