The Project Controls Manager will be responsible for upholding project controls protocols. This position demands extensive knowledge in cost management, project estimation, and a solid background in various project control aspects, including accounting, forecasting, and reporting.
Work Arrangement: Remote with an Onsite Requirement (One week per month). Candidates residing in specific regions may be prioritized, while others should be prepared for necessary travel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct the Project Controls team in managing cost-related functions.
- Oversee the original and current budgets, forecasts, commitments, actuals, changes, Earned Value, productivity metrics, and cash flow management.
- Facilitate target value design processes to align design with budgetary constraints.
- Establish and maintain the Project Controls Plan covering Estimating, Funding, Procurement, and Cost Management.
- Utilize the Cost Management Tool to track project costs in accordance with established guidelines.
- Conduct reconciliations between local accounting data and the project controls system.
- Assist the Project Manager with cost reporting, forecasting, and contract negotiations.
- Generate reports detailing actuals, variances, trends, and necessary re-forecasts.
- Ensure effective Change Management throughout all project phases.
- Maintain comprehensive Cash flow and Commitment flow documentation.
- Evaluate external costs and collaborate with stakeholders to create internal cost estimates.
- Engage in the value engineering process to optimize project costs.
- Assess change orders for their financial implications.
- Conduct bid cost comparisons for proposal evaluations.
- Analyze project risks and their potential cost and schedule impacts.
- Review project invoices for contractual compliance.
- Support the financial closure of projects.
- Compile and preserve historical cost data and insights for future reference.
Required Skills:
- Comprehensive understanding of cost management principles.
- Experience with project estimation techniques.
- Strong grasp of procurement processes and contract management.
- Familiarity with tools such as SAP, eBuilder, MS Project, or P6 is advantageous.
- Proven expertise in various project control functions, including accounting, planning, and reporting.
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- A minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience in the industry or capital project management.
- Experience in the Bio/Pharmaceutical sector is preferred but not mandatory.
