Position Overview:

The Certified Nursing Assistant plays a crucial role in delivering personal care and treatment to patients within a healthcare facility under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. This position involves performing clinical support tasks and assisting with patient care techniques, ensuring patients are prepared for various treatments and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with medical procedures as instructed.
  • Provide specialized patient care tailored to specific departmental needs, including preparation for minor procedures and assisting surgical teams.
  • Support patients with dressing, bathing, and eating activities.
  • Monitor and report any changes in patient conditions to nursing staff.
  • Collect specimens for testing and record vital signs and weight.
  • Conduct accu-checks and perform oral and nasal suctioning as needed.
  • Prepare the care environment and ensure all supplies are adequately stocked.
  • Facilitate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Transport patients to various departments for necessary testing.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

A minimum of two years of experience in a healthcare setting with direct patient care responsibilities is preferred. Certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in New York State is mandatory.

Education:

A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Additional Information:
