Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist Reg II to join our team at CHI St. Joseph's Health. As a key member of our Respiratory Care Department, you will be responsible for delivering specialized cardiopulmonary care to patients experiencing breathing issues.

Our ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in respiratory therapy, with the ability to remain calm and focused in emergent situations. You will work closely with our team of healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care and develop effective care plans.

Responsibilities
  • Administer respiratory modalities, including oxygen administration, nebulizer treatment, and invasive and non-invasive ventilator management.
  • Conduct cardiopulmonary diagnostic testing, including EKG, Holter Monitor, and pulmonary function testing.
  • Work collaboratively with providers, nursing staff, and the Respiratory Care Department to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Document and charge all modalities delivered into the electronic medical record.
  • Maintain equipment and ensure proper assembly and cleaning.
  • Evaluate the appropriateness and effectiveness of therapy based on patient needs.
  • Make recommendations for changes in therapy modes.
  • Educate patients and arrange home respiratory care services.
  • Participate in department meetings, in-service programs, and continuing education programs to maintain professional growth.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
  • Associate in Applied Science Degree, Registered Respiratory Therapist.
  • Current Minnesota Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Clinical experience preferred, but not required.
