About the Role

As a Respiratory Therapist at Grand Itasca, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.


Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and monitor respiratory therapy procedures as ordered by physicians.
  • Assess patient conditions and communicate with physicians to ensure optimal care.
  • Accurately document therapy and its effects in patient medical records.
  • Respond to emergency situations and provide support to medical and nursing staff.
  • Maintain patient airways and ventilation, and set up and monitor ventilator/BiPAP patients.
  • Perform Pulmonary Function Testing and administer pulmonary consults to patients.
  • Assist with patient education, staff education, and special projects.

Requirements
  • Certified by the National Board of Respiratory Care, with registration within twelve months of employment.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Current license by the State of Minnesota as an RT.
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP certification within three months of employment.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow and adhere to Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital policies, vision, mission, and values.
  • Maintains reliable and consistent attendance.
