About the Role:

The Baldwin Group is seeking a highly skilled Commercial Risk Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Commercial Lines team, you will partner with Advisors, Directors Risk Management, and Client Service Specialists to deliver exceptional service to our commercial clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client files in our Agency Management System, ensuring proper documentation and communication with all stakeholders.
  • Compose professional business correspondence, including letters, emails, and other means, to effectively communicate with clients and insurance companies.
  • Perform accounting and math-related functions, including invoicing, premium allocation, and other tasks as necessary.
  • Monitor claims and provide guidance and assistance to clients in coordination with claims.
  • Interact with colleagues and clients effectively, utilizing excellent communication skills and cooperating to achieve company goals.
  • Attend client meetings with Advisors or Directors Risk Management, as requested.
  • Assist colleagues in responding to client inquiries and processing work, as needed.
  • Manage client accounts, including policy review, changes, and updates, contract review for certificates processing, preparing renewal documents, marketing and negotiating insurance programs, filing surplus lines, reviewing leases, and financial statements related to client insurance.
  • Assist clients via telephone and email, relaying information and following up for timely service.
  • Counsel and advise clients on coverage and exposure, recommending and placing additional coverage as needed.
  • Actively seek referrals from current clients to solicit new business prospects, following up to generate new business using our prospect database and automation system.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with insurance company partners, ensuring knowledge of carrier requirements and attributes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the firm, business segment, and processes, bringing issues and discrepancies to the attention of leadership.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrate effective presentation skills through verbal and written communications.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with the ability to learn other software programs as needed.
  • Demonstrate alignment with our firm's core values and corporate culture.
  • Obtain and maintain state insurance licenses, as required by the State Department of Insurance, to provide risk management consulting or risk transfer solutions in states where we operate.
  • 3+ years of experience in a Commercial Account Manager role.
