Job Title: Commercial Risk Manager
Job Summary:
The Baldwin Group is a leading insurance brokerage firm delivering expertly crafted Commercial Insurance and Risk Management solutions to clients across the U.S. and abroad. We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Risk Manager to join our team and partner with Advisors, Directors Risk Management, and Client Service Specialists to deliver exceptional service to our commercial clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client files in our Agency Management System, ensuring proper documentation and communication with all stakeholders.
- Compose professional business correspondence via letter, email, and other means to ensure timely and effective communication with clients and insurance companies.
- Perform accounting and math-related functions, including invoicing, premium allocation, and other tasks as necessary, to ensure seamless operations.
- Monitor claims and communicate information to relevant parties, providing guidance and assistance to clients as needed.
- Interact with colleagues and clients effectively, utilizing excellent communication skills and cooperation to achieve company goals.
- Attend client meetings with Advisors or Directors Risk Management, as requested, to provide expert guidance and support.
- Assist colleagues in responding to client inquiries and processing work, as needed, to ensure timely and effective service.
- Manage day-to-day activities of client accounts, including policy review, changes, and updates, contract review, and certificate processing.
- Counsel and advise clients on coverage and exposure, recommending and placing additional coverage as needed.
- Actively seek referrals from current clients to solicit new business prospects, following up to generate new business using our prospect database and automation system.
- Cultivate strong relationships with insurance company partners, ensuring knowledge of carrier requirements and attributes.
- Identify opportunities to improve the firm, business segment, and processes, bringing issues and discrepancies to the attention of leadership.
Requirements:
- Demonstrate effective presentation skills through verbal and written communication.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with the ability to learn other software programs as needed.
- Demonstrate alignment with our corporate culture and core values.
- Obtain and maintain state insurance licenses, as required by the State Department of Insurance, to provide risk management consulting or risk transfer solutions in states where we operate.
- 3+ years of experience in a Commercial Account Manager role.
Work Environment:
The Baldwin Group is a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment that requires adaptability and a willingness to learn. Travel may be required for training and quarterly on-site meetings.
