About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Scent Design Manager to join our team at IFF. As a key member of our Fabric Care business, you will be responsible for developing creative strategies and leading regional projects, with some global project exposure.

In this role, you will further develop business knowledge, potentially leveraging consumer feedback, and grow technical expertise, increasing IFF's ability to win in the marketplace. You will utilize internal processes/programs/tools to support the overall Fabric Care business strategy.

About You

We are looking for a curious, critical thinker with problem-solving skills that question everything to help reinvent the SCENT industry. You are very skilled at executing category or customer strategy, showing proficiency in IFF capabilities. You are able to develop with global teams creating new features addressing customer's benefit spaces/ needs.

The ideal candidate will have a great understanding of ingredients and deployment of a strategic decision. Influential leader among other team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with Perfumers to design/ create fragrance solutions against Fabric Care brief and initiative objectives
  • Develop, drive, & execute olfactive strategies to support the success of the Fabric Care regional/category business
  • Utilize existing experience in product/ fragrance development
  • Learn, leverage, and apply innovative technologies in Fabric care
  • Manage fragrance selection and identifying new winning themes for incoming briefs
  • Know how to effectively screen down fragrance themes against project objectives
  • Ensure timeline and budget requirements are met
  • Articulate clearly project process from beginning to end, including having the story telling skills to present to customers (internal/ external)
  • Strong project management skills, communicating with various functions (perfumers, consumer insights, marketing, scent technology, commercial, management, etc.)
  • Leverage potential cross category fragrance themes for Fabric Care projects
  • Leverage IFF's Scent Portfolio for optimal efficiency in project work
  • Willing to discuss and co-design consumer testing methods, questionnaires, etc. and applying the output insights from studies into creative development
  • Understanding the market trends and shifts, and be able to partner with marketing on regular basis to share olfactive and brand knowledge
  • Create and facilitate olfactive/ fragrance trainings
  • Ensure personal development is a priority, aligning to IFF's category and business objectives
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree/Masters degree, preferably in Science or Business
  • Excellent olfactive capabilities (candidates will be required to complete internal smelling test)
  • 5-8 years of industry experience (fragrance house or consumer goods company) and evaluation experience
  • Fabric Care experience is a must
  • Project Management experience, ideally with some fragrance/ product development
