Job Summary

The Senior Clinical Laboratory Scientist Specialist will perform a wide range of duties within their area of specialty, including investigation and development of new and modified test procedures, technical review and monitoring of existing procedures, and coordination of quality control, quality assurance, and proficiency testing activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate and develop new and modified test procedures
  • Technical review and monitoring of existing procedures
  • Coordination of quality control, quality assurance, and proficiency testing activities
  • Identification of staff training needs and evaluation of testing personnel competency
  • Act as technical consultant and resource for staff, Medical Enterprise, and community
Requirements
  • Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license issued by the State of California, Department of Public Health or CHS (Clinical Histocompatibility Scientist License)
  • At least three years of experience in molecular HLA
  • Excellent communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • ASHI CHT/CHS (ACHI) certified
  • Five years of HLA Clinical laboratory experience
  • Clinical laboratory R&D experience
  • Demonstrated experience with Flow Cytometry, Luminex based assay, and Molecular techniques
  • Experience with SOFT LIS system
Working Conditions
  • Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays, overtime, and at various locations as necessary
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical
