Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Wellness Activity Coordinator to join our team at the Kodiak Area Native Association. As a key member of our Wellness Center, you will be responsible for planning and executing physical activities that promote health and wellness in our village communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute group fitness activities that cater to the needs and interests of village residents.
  • Collaborate with Wellness Center staff to utilize online and virtual tools to enhance programming and increase access to participants.
  • Apply evidence-based approaches to improve mobility, flexibility, strength, stability, agility, and power for participants.
  • Maintain records of participant attendance and modify classes as needed to accommodate varying ability levels.
  • Provide feedback to the Wellness Center Manager on relevant programming and supports for village residents.
  • Travel to Kodiak for Wellness Center trainings as needed.
  • Collaborate with KANA Communications to advertise classes and improve attendance.
  • Maintain group fitness instructor certification by complying with continuing education and training requirements.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent and an interest in group fitness and/or physical activity.
Working Environment

This position is located in the village community and requires a strong commitment to promoting health and wellness in a rural setting.
