Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team, reflecting Instron's unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction.

This role involves remote work with responsibilities that include traveling to client locations to conduct a range of services such as verification, preventive maintenance, repairs, and installations on a diverse array of Instron products.

As part of this position, you will receive a company vehicle and the necessary tools and equipment, including a laptop, mobile phone, and MI-FI device, along with robust support from our established service operations.

The primary focus will be on the greater Birmingham area, with occasional travel required to other regions, potentially involving overnight stays.


Qualifications:
We are looking for candidates who possess a two or four-year technical degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent military or trade school training in lieu of a degree.

Applicants should demonstrate proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documentation related to mechanical and electronic systems.

Familiarity with blueprints, schematics, and an understanding of electrical and mechanical systems is essential, as is experience with PCs and various operating systems.

This role demands a high degree of independence, along with exceptional organizational, time management, and customer service abilities.


Preferred Experience:
  • Prior experience in field service is highly desirable.
  • Experience with automation systems is advantageous.
  • Background in performing maintenance on servo hydraulic systems is preferred.
  • Familiarity with materials testing is a plus, though not mandatory.
  • Experience in delivering technical training, both hands-on and in classroom settings, is beneficial.
