Assistant Professor/Associate Professor of Family Medicine with Obstetrics

We are seeking a highly qualified individual to join our faculty as an Assistant or Associate Professor of Family Medicine with Obstetrics. This is a full-time, non-tenure track position that will contribute to the growth and development of our department.
About the PositionThe Department of Family Medicine in the College of Community Health Sciences at the University of Alabama is excited to announce the availability of one faculty position for a full-time, non-tenure earning clinical track BC/BE family physician to meet its growing needs. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching medical students and residents in clinical training, research and scholarly activity, as well as providing direct patient care with an emphasis in a rural outpatient/ambulatory and inpatient primary care setting.
Responsibilities- Teach medical students and residents in clinical training
- Conduct research and scholarly activity
- Provide direct patient care in a rural outpatient/ambulatory and inpatient primary care setting
- Participate in administrative tasks typical for a faculty appointment
The successful candidate must have an M.D. or D.O. degree and be Board eligible/Board Certified in Family Medicine with completion of an Obstetrics fellowship. Candidates must also meet Alabama medical licensure requirements and complete licensure within the state prior to start date.
Preferred QualificationsA track record of scholarship, focusing on learning and teaching in a health professions or medical school environment, is desirable. Successful candidates will display a collaborative and entrepreneurial spirit, a desire to work in multidisciplinary and inter-professional teams, and excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English.
