Position Overview:
A prominent healthcare facility is seeking a dedicated Healthcare Billing Specialist to enhance their billing and collections team.

This role involves liaising with patients, governmental bodies, and insurance providers to collect, process, and document information necessary for securing appropriate reimbursements. The specialist will collaborate with various departments to obtain charge details, coding updates, and additional information pertinent to claim disputes. Responsibilities include executing billing and collection tasks and preparing documentation for relevant stakeholders. The role also entails reviewing outstanding claims and gathering essential information to resolve payment issues. The specialist will handle routine tasks within established guidelines and receive daily directives regarding work assignments.

Key Responsibilities:
- Review, amend, and submit claims to insurance providers.
- Utilize foundational knowledge and experience to perform job duties effectively.
- Assess overdue accounts, initiate appropriate actions for collections, and follow up to ensure successful outcomes.
- Meet or surpass productivity and quality benchmarks.
- Analyze unpaid accounts and take necessary steps for collection of overdue and denied claims.
- Calculate write-offs and adjustments for debits/credits.
- Provide general administrative support as required.
- Perform additional job-related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
- Experience in medical billing and collections within a healthcare environment.

Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with Cerner systems.
- Associate's/Technical Degree or a comparable combination of education and experience.

Work Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, with shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM or 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM. On-site presence is required.

Contract Details:
- 800-hour contract with potential for permanent employment upon successful completion.

Compensation:
- Hourly rate ranging from $22 to $25, based on experience.
