Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and patient Technology Trainer to join our team at Senior Planet. As a Technology Trainer, you will be responsible for teaching technology courses virtually and in-person using the OATS curriculum and approach. You will create a comfortable and supportive learning environment, offer personalized support to callers on the Senior Planet hotlines, and make outbound calls to Senior Planet members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach technology courses virtually and in-person using the OATS curriculum and approach
  • Create a comfortable and supportive learning environment
  • Offer personalized support to callers on the Senior Planet hotlines
  • Make outbound calls to Senior Planet members
  • Maintain professionalism at all times
  • Represent and promote Senior Planet culture and opportunities to course participants
  • Engage in regular communication with OATS staff, including feedback on site issues, curriculum, etc.
  • Coordinate with site staff, including site visits, graduations, etc.
  • Submit paperwork in a timely manner
  • Collect surveys and evaluations
  • Enter data into Salesforce database
  • Participate in trainer meetings and other training events
  • Recruit participants, as needed
  • Participate in special projects, as needed (ex. outreach, curriculum, etc.)
  • Supervise volunteers who assist classes, as needed
Requirements
  • Excellent speaking and communication skills
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly in English, English and Mandarin OR English and Spanish
  • Experience teaching teenagers, adults, and/or seniors, preferable
  • Proficiency with Windows computers, iOS, popular social media sites, and other common technologies/devices
  • Comfortable traveling to various senior/community centers as needed, when/if safe to do so
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a training team
  • Superior time-management skills
  • Flexibility, patience, and a sense of humor
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a professional work setting
