If this resonates with you, the Economics and Data Science department within the Flash Business Unit at Western Digital is seeking a Lead Software Engineer, Full Stack Development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a proficient Full Stack Software Engineer for the Flash Business Unit.
- Develop efficient, reliable, maintainable, and defect-free code, ensuring software meets and surpasses business goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver innovative software solutions that fulfill user needs.
- Engage in software development practices, including specification and code reviews.
- Maintain a strong curiosity about emerging technologies and integrate them into your development practices.
- Exhibit adaptability and flexibility in response to changing project requirements and technological landscapes.
- Demonstrate robust problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills to tackle complex technical challenges.
- Proactively identify and implement effective software solutions to guarantee project success.
- Embrace a proactive approach and remain technically unrestricted.
Required:
- Proven technical leadership in guiding projects from inception to completion, showcasing the ability to lead a team in designing, architecting, and implementing application solutions for users.
- Experience with Agile Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, including the development and management of CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience in developing application software throughout its lifecycle, from use case framing to prototyping, development, and containerized deployment.
- Exceptional ability to articulate and share technical execution plans with stakeholders.
- 5+ years of experience in software development, algorithms, and data structures, with proficiency in languages such as Python, Golang, Ruby, C++, or C#.
- 5+ years of experience in web application development using cross-platform technologies, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (Vue, React, Angular) / TypeScript.
- Experience with transactional databases like MongoDB, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
- Familiarity with RESTful, GraphQL, or other APIs.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Preferred:
- 8+ years of experience in software design, architecture, and development, with expertise in system languages such as Java, Python, Golang, C++, or C#.
- A demonstrable portfolio of full-stack application development showcasing proficiency in paradigms such as microservices, containerization, synchronous & asynchronous messaging, and event-driven architecture.
- Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- In-depth knowledge of web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (React, Angular).
- Proficient in system languages including Java, Python, Golang, C++, C#, Rust, etc.
- Solid software development skills, with a focus on decision-making and adaptability.
- Working knowledge of data analytics, big data technologies, and ETL processes.
