Surgical Assistant

As a Surgical Assistant at LifeBridge Health, you will play a vital role in ensuring the success of surgical procedures. Under the direction of the surgeon/physician, you will provide aid in exposure, hemostasis, closure, and other intraoperative technical functions to achieve optimal results for patients.
The Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSTFA) may function as a first or second assistant as directed according to hospital policy. In addition to assisting during procedures, you will perform preoperative and post-operative duties to facilitate patient care.
Responsibilities:- Provide technical assistance to surgeons/physicians during surgical procedures
- Perform preoperative and post-operative duties to support patient care
- Assist in rendering patient care and direction of the Surgical Assistance Manager
- Formal working knowledge equivalent to an Associate's degree (2 years college)
- Graduate of CAAHEP Surgical Assistant program recognized by US Dept. of Education & The JC or equivalent job experience mandated by ABSA, NBSTSA or NSAA
- Current certification CFSA, CSA or SA-C & CST including CEUs requirements
- 3-5 years of experience
