Job Summary:

Surgical assistants play a crucial role in ensuring the success of surgical procedures. As a Certified Surgical First Assistant, you will provide aid in exposure, hemostasis, closure, and other intraoperative technical functions to help the surgeon achieve optimal results for the patient.

Under the direction and supervision of the surgeon/physician, you will perform preoperative and post-operative duties to facilitate patient care. Your responsibilities will include assisting in rendering patient care and directing the Surgical Assistance Manager, which may involve hospital zone-based patient care procedures.

Requirements:
  • Formal working knowledge equivalent to an Associate's degree (2 years college)
  • Graduate of CAAHEP Surgical Assistant program recognized by US Dept. of Education & The JC or equivalent job experience mandated by ABSA, NBSTSA or NSAA
  • Current certification CFSA, CSA or SA-C & CST including CEUs requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience
