Job Summary:

Surgical assistants play a crucial role in ensuring the success of surgical procedures. As a Certified Surgical First Assistant, you will provide critical support to surgeons, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing exposure, hemostasis, closure, and other intraoperative technical functions
  • Assisting surgeons during procedures under their direction and supervision
  • Performing preoperative and post-operative duties to facilitate patient care
  • Collaborating with the Surgical Assistance Manager to direct patient care and hospital zone-based procedures
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Formal working knowledge equivalent to an Associate's degree (2 years college)
  • Graduation from a CAAHEP Surgical Assistant program recognized by the US Department of Education & The JC or equivalent job experience mandated by ABSA, NBSTSA or NSAA
  • Current certification CFSA, CSA or SA-C & CST including CEUs requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience
