Job Summary

We are seeking a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) to join our team at Dyersville MercyOne Medical Center. As a CNA, you will play a vital role in providing holistic, compassionate, and effective patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and feeding.
  • Provide physical, emotional, and spiritual care to patients, respecting their individual needs and cultural backgrounds.
  • Record and report vital signs, intake and output, weight, and behavioral changes to supervisory personnel.
  • Assist with mealtime activities, including delivering and removing patient trays and feeding patients.
  • Complete routine daily assignments and perform additional duties as requested.
Requirements
  • Certification in a 75-hour CNA certification program and active registration on the Iowa registry.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) required within 30 days of hire and every 2 years thereafter.
  • Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training required within 6 months of hire and every 3 years thereafter.
Working Conditions

The CNA will work in a variable and unpredictable environment, with frequent squatting, crawling, crouching, kneeling, and balancing. The job requires lifting and carrying up to 35 pounds without assistance and may expose the employee to marked changes in temperature and humidity, infectious diseases, hazardous waste, and chemicals.
