Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute Vibration Programs, ensuring comprehensive implementation.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis and provide consultation for identified issues.
  • Perform Motion Amplification Video studies to assess equipment performance.
  • Execute Operating Deflection Shapes (ODS) studies for machinery evaluation.
  • Collect dynamic pressure data from both positive displacement and centrifugal machinery.
  • Carry out Acoustical Induced Vibration (AIV) and Flow Induced Vibration (FIV) studies.
  • Engage in transient, periodic, or random monitoring, including continuous assessments.
  • Analyze structures and piping systems, including vessels and heat exchangers.
  • Conduct pulsation studies on reciprocating compressors.
  • Perform harmonic and resonance studies to determine natural frequencies.
  • Establish operating exclusion zones based on analysis.
  • Investigate vortex shedding, flow turbulence, and cavitation phenomena.
  • Assess valve noise and acoustic fatigue.
  • Evaluate fluid-elastic instability conditions.
  • Design, install, and maintain API 670 Machinery Protection Systems.
  • Oversee alignment processes for machinery.
  • Support mechanical seal evaluations and design initiatives.
  • Conduct shop documentation and testing, including loaded run analysis.
  • Perform motor field testing and infrared thermography on electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Implement criticality ranking, FMEA, and RCM methodologies.

Technical Expertise:

The Reliability Engineer must possess a comprehensive understanding of JHC's MES and Emerson's AMS products and services, including:

  • AMS 2140, AMS 9420, AMS 9530, AMS Asset Monitor, AMS 6500 ATG, AMS 6500 Prediction, and associated accessories.
  • Thorough knowledge of AMS Machinery Health Manager (MHM) and PlantWeb OPTICS, along with familiarity with AMS Device Manager.
  • Expertise in various sensor types, including accelerometers, tachometers, and thermocouples, along with their installation and maintenance.
  • Understanding of wireless systems (WiHART and WiFi) and their configurations.
  • Familiarity with computer systems related to hardware and software, including network architectures.

Project Management:

The Reliability Engineer will coordinate with MES personnel to manage PdM contracts and service projects effectively. This includes:

  • Maintaining communication with client contacts to ensure timely completion of contracts.
  • Scheduling emergency and ad-hoc requests based on personnel availability and client needs.
  • Keeping an organized calendar of upcoming projects and personnel assignments.
