Role Description: The CapEx Early Engagement Team at Apple operates at a distinctive junction of manufacturing, engineering, and finance, providing team members with extensive insights into the introduction of new products.

We play a pivotal role in discovering methods to enhance the manufacturing process by pinpointing and executing improved strategies for designing, managing, and procuring the equipment utilized in the production of our offerings.


This position will assist in developing tools that empower the Operations team to make informed capital investment choices by utilizing insights derived from intricate engineering and manufacturing data.

You will collaborate with various functional teams, spanning engineering to procurement, to identify opportunities for the most cost-effective approaches to construct and evaluate Apple's new products.


  • Design and implement data schemas and collection techniques
  • Create and develop data optimization models tailored for manufacturing applications
  • Examine extensive datasets to uncover operational metrics and opportunities for enhancing factory efficiency, workflow, and machine performance, alongside calculating financial performance indicators such as ROI and payback periods
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and effectively engage with cross-functional teams to develop technical designs
  • Drive technical solutions through productive partnerships with stakeholders across engineering, operations, and procurement
  • Process and visualize data utilizing Tableau and Python


Essential Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in Data Analysis within an Industrial Engineering context; experience in high-tech manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, NPI, or Operations Research is advantageous. Proficient in Excel, including pivot tables, vlookups, and conditional formatting. Advanced knowledge of Python and Tableau, capable of creating and deploying analytical tools and data visualizations that facilitate team actions. Familiarity with emerging concepts such as machine learning and predictive analytics (Deep Learning, Python, R, Neural Networks, applied Data Science) is a significant advantage. Proven ability to build relationships and effectively influence peers and management. Solid understanding of manufacturing principles, factory operations, and cost optimization. Willingness and ability to travel internationally up to 25%. Education & Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or a related engineering discipline. A Master's degree or MBA is considered a plus.


Compensation & Benefits: At Apple, base pay is just one component of our comprehensive compensation package, determined within a specified range. This structure allows for growth as you develop within your role.

The base pay range for this position is between $122,300 and $184,600, and your base pay will be influenced by your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become shareholders through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.

Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards and can purchase Apple stock at a discount through the Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
