Position Overview:
This role involves overseeing the clinical education of veterinary students in the field of diagnostic imaging.

The position is aimed at individuals who are engaged in academic instruction within health sciences, particularly those with clinical responsibilities.

Candidates appointed at the clinical instructor level should possess qualifications and training that are comparable to faculty standards. Approval from the relevant academic department is necessary for clinical titles.

Academic Rank and Responsibilities:
Modified professorial roles include four distinct levels:
Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor.

The specific criteria for each academic title will be determined by the respective department.

It is essential that each successive title level reflects clear differences in experience and expertise relevant to the assigned duties.


Key Responsibilities:


Responsibilities encompass didactic, laboratory, and clinical instruction for veterinary medical students, as well as involvement in patient diagnostics through various imaging modalities such as radiography, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, computed tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging within the Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Additional duties include supervising residents and providing continuing education for practicing veterinarians.

The anticipated distribution of time for this clinical track role is as follows:

  • Clinical Practice: 40-50%
  • Non-Clinical Teaching: 15%
  • Research: 30-40%
  • Service: 5%

Expectations include 22-26 weeks of clinical responsibilities, delivering up to 15-20 lectures, and conducting 20-30 hours of laboratory sessions.

Educational Requirements:
Required:
Terminal Degree
DVM - Doctor of Veterinary Medicine or an equivalent qualification.

Qualifications:
Completion of residency training in Radiology/Diagnostic Imaging is required by the start date.

Board certification or eligibility in the American College of Veterinary Radiology or the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging is also required at the time of commencement.

Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to developing an academic program focused on Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging.

Eligibility to obtain and maintain licensure to practice veterinary medicine in Wisconsin is mandatory at the time of commencement.
