About the Role

The University of Kentucky is seeking a visionary leader to serve as the Director of Criminal Justice Programs. This is a 9-month, tenure-eligible, open-rank position in the Regular Title Series.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Develop and communicate a clear vision for the Criminal Justice programs.
    • Represent the University's Criminal Justice interests at national and international venues.
    • Provide supervision and mentorship to faculty and staff assigned to the Criminal Justice Programs.
  • Student Support and Experience
    • Stay up-to-date on contemporary challenges and opportunities in undergraduate and graduate education.
    • Engage with the Director of Student Experience to address challenges and exploit opportunities.
    • Participate in development activities focused on building scholarship support for Criminal Justice students.
  • Strategic Planning and Program Development
    • Lead the deployment of new programmatic efforts associated with the Criminal Justice programs.
    • Develop strategic plans and frameworks consistent with programmatic goal attainment.
  • Personnel and Resource Procurement and Oversight
    • Build and track annual budget requests to the Office of the Dean.
    • Recruit and support faculty and part-time instructors assigned to the Criminal Justice programs.
    • Participate in personnel reviews and assessments.
  • Quality Control and Reporting
    • Establish and lead quality assurance reviews and process/procedures.
    • Provide performance and other reports associated with the Criminal Justice programs.
