Position Summary:
Under the direct supervision of department leadership, the role involves performing phlebotomy collection of whole blood and apheresis products. Engages with donors and coordinators, delivering a high standard of customer service to ensure an exceptional donation experience. Demonstrates pride and commitment to providing top-quality services. Collaborates effectively and serves as a supportive team member. Positively contributes to the achievement of team goals. Responsible for operating the mobile collection vehicle and safely transporting the mobile staff.

Responsibilities:
Adheres to all DOT regulations while operating a full-size commercial van/Promaster, ensuring the safe transport of staff, supplies, and equipment.

Travels to various local collection sites as determined by operational needs.

Prepares the collection site and sets up necessary technology systems (may include quality control).

Conducts donor screening (collecting donor histories), mini-physical assessments, and phlebotomy.

Monitors donors for any reactions, provides care for reactions, and assists other staff in managing reactions as necessary. May offer post-reaction care at mobile drives, including assessing recovery, escorting donors, and coordinating care with host organizations (e.g., school nurse, drive coordinator).

Operates automation (Alyx and/or Trima), recognizing and responding to automation reactions. Recruits and converts donors for automation.

Schedules donors for future donation appointments.

Understands and complies with all relevant regulatory and compliance standards.

Recognizes when a customer is distressed and responds appropriately with sensitivity. Creates a safe environment for both donors and staff members.

Treats donors with exceptional customer service, projecting a positive image. Addresses customer inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly and thoroughly, escalating to leadership when necessary.

May prepare and package units for transport.


Ensures product integrity and accurate identification of all donors, performs routine maintenance on equipment, and completes departmental records as required.

Availability for evening, weekend, and holiday hours is necessary.

Performs additional duties as required or assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of this job classification.

Understands and operates in accordance with all applicable regulatory and compliance requirements.

Adheres to all standard operating policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
Education

High School Diploma required.

GED required.

Experience

1-3 years of relevant customer-facing experience preferred.

Less than 1 year of job-related experience typically required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Valid driver's license with prior driving experience required.


Familiarity with standardized work routines and methods, general facts and information, and/or the use of basic equipment, machines, and materials.

Knowledge is generally acquired through on-the-job training.


Ability to read and interpret documents such as Standard Operating Procedures, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and other departmental manuals.
