Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Blood Collection Technician to join our team at the Community Blood Center of Greater Kansas City. As a key member of our mobile site team, you will be responsible for transporting equipment and supplies to mobile sites, setting up and breaking down equipment, and performing blood collections in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport equipment and supplies to mobile sites
  • Set up and break down equipment according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Perform blood collections, including donor suitability evaluations, blood pressure and temperature checks, and phlebotomy procedures
  • Ensure the safety of donors and the quality of blood collected
  • Comply with all safety policies and procedures, including DOT regulations
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid MO Class E Driver's License or KS Class C Driver's License with excellent driving history
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with donors, chairpersons, and co-workers
  • Basic computer skills and ability to maintain accurate records
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a health-related field, preferably in phlebotomy
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology and proficiency in all duties related to Donor Room Assistant
