Equipment Management Internship

D.C. United is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to assist with equipment management for the D.C. United Academy. As an Equipment Management Intern, you will play a critical role in supporting the Academy Administrator in ensuring the smooth operation of equipment management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with equipment inventory management, including tracking and maintaining accurate records of equipment usage and condition.
  • Support the Academy Administrator in coordinating equipment logistics, including ordering and receiving new equipment, and ensuring timely delivery of equipment to teams.
  • Collaborate with the equipment team to develop and implement effective equipment management strategies, including maintenance and repair schedules.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to Academy staff and players, responding to equipment-related inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements:
  • Working towards or possessing a four-year bachelor's degree in a related field, such as sports management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including Academy staff, players, and vendors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with experience working with inventory management software a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1-2 years of experience in equipment management, operations, or a related field.
  • Experience working in a team sport setting, preferably in soccer.
  • Experience working with inventory management software and heat press machines.
