Position Overview

The Production Line Technician plays a crucial role in the manufacturing process, overseeing the essential operations of extrusion lines while also contributing to the training of new employees.

As they enhance their skills by mastering various production lines, the Production Line Technician aims to deepen their understanding of quality assurance protocols.

This role requires adherence to all operational procedures to guarantee the safe and efficient functioning of the production line, working within established guidelines and company policies.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute fundamental production tasks, including loading materials, managing trim, adjusting machinery settings, and preparing finished products for distribution.
  • Ensure quality control by inspecting products, identifying defects, and maintaining accurate records of production metrics.
  • Assist in the training of new operators and support team members in various production areas to meet staffing needs.
  • Engage in quality assurance activities, including conducting tests and completing necessary documentation to uphold quality standards.
  • Facilitate smooth operations during shift changes and promptly report any issues to senior staff or management.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, preparing for shift transitions effectively.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management to support production goals.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in previous line operator roles.
  • Technical understanding of machinery and production systems.
  • Ability to utilize hand tools and measurement devices accurately.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the capacity to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and a commitment to teamwork.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Basic mathematical proficiency.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands of this position include:

  • Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures and noise levels.
  • Regular lifting and moving of materials weighing between 45-55 lbs, with occasional lifting of up to 65 lbs.
  • Capability to stand and walk for extended periods on concrete surfaces.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Preferred Experience:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in a plastics manufacturing setting is advantageous.

Work Environment:

This role is typically performed indoors, where employees may encounter varying temperatures and moderate noise levels. Adherence to safety protocols and the use of PPE is mandatory.
