Job Summary

We're seeking a skilled Land Acquisition Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Land Services group, you'll possess an excellent working knowledge of all right of way disciplines, title, permitting, acquisition, and documentation. Your expertise will be instrumental in securing permission to enter properties from landowners and tenants, negotiating for ROW options, easements, and fee interest, and maintaining detailed records of all activities.

Responsibilities
  • Secure permission to enter properties from landowners and tenants.
  • Negotiate for ROW options, easements, and fee interest, while maintaining the ROW price policy.
  • Maintain detailed records of all activities, including a diary of contacts with property owners and tenants, and a log of all payments.
  • Negotiate damage settlements as required.
  • Support all construction activities as required.
  • Document all ROW activities as required.
  • Adhere to project safety plans.
  • Mediate ROW encroachments as required.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience as a ROW agent or related ROW position working with electric transmission, linear projects.
  • Experience negotiating for electric transmission easements and/or gas transmission easements.
  • Experience providing construction support and damage settlement.
  • Experience researching land ownership.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including spreadsheet and word processing.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Specialized knowledge in land description and terminology, surface and subsurface rights, ROW document analysis, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work alone, make decisions, and use judgment while performing related activities.
