We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Behavioral Health Technician to join our team at Wexford Health Sources Inc. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary treatment team, you will work directly with mentally ill or intellectually and developmentally disabled inmates, providing therapeutic services within mental health programs and units.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and conduct a variety of therapeutic client activities, correlated with client needs and based on treatment plans.
- Provide leadership for groups of clients in one phase of the total therapeutic activities program.
- Evaluate clients' capabilities and prepare recommendations on placement of clients in activity programs.
- Assist in maintaining administrative and clinical records.
- Request supplies and equipment needed for assigned activities.
- Perform all duties and activities per the Behavioral Health Policies and Procedures and IDOC Administrative Directives.
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
- Current CPR certification.
- Ability to plan, organize, direct, and participate in recreation/leisure activities.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of therapeutic activity programs.
