About the Role

The Northern New Mexico Project Manager plays a critical role in the success of our post-fire restoration efforts. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating and implementing multi-year restoration projects in watersheds affected by the Hermits Peak-Calf Canyon wildfire. You will work closely with our team to develop and implement projects, collaborate with government agencies and stakeholders, and ensure the successful completion of projects within budget and timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement post-fire restoration projects in collaboration with our team and partners.
  • Collaborate with government agencies and stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Oversee the development of project plans, budgets, and schedules.
  • Ensure the successful completion of projects within budget and timelines.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to field crews, volunteers, and contractors.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor project progress and ensure quality control.

Requirements

  • Minimum of an undergraduate degree in natural resource management, wildlife biology, biology, forestry, botany, hydrology, engineering or related field.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in project management related to construction, watershed restoration, wildlife habitat or related disciplines.
  • Strong knowledge of and experience in Federal land management policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience in contract development, negotiation, and oversight.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency with GIS and managing geospatial data, including shapefiles, geodatabases, and KML/KMZ.
  • Experience with project management software and tools.
  • Knowledge of bat biology and ecology, and more broadly, conservation and wildlife management principles.
  • Familiarity with New Mexico natural resource issues and the cultural landscape.

Compensation and Benefits

  • $75,000 annually, full-time salaried.
