We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to join our team at Advocate Health. As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the cleanliness and sterility of surgical instruments and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Examine and assemble surgical instruments and sets, ensuring proper cleanliness and sterility.
  • Decontaminate general and specialty instruments and sets, following established protocols.
  • Check instrument performance and identify repair needs.
  • Act as a resource for instrument identification, use, location, and availability.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to infection control standards.
  • Report equipment malfunctions and ensure proper functioning of sterilization equipment.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of experience in Sterile Processing or a related field.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and follow directions.
  • Computer skills and experience with sterilization equipment.
  • Registered Central Service Tech certification.
Working Conditions:
  • Exposure to ETO and blood/body fluids.
  • Heavy lifting (30-40lbs).
  • Hepatitis vaccination required.
  • Ability to respond quickly to emergent situations.
  • Strength and dexterity to handle surgical instruments and equipment.
