Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Relationship Officer to join our team at Westerly CCU. As a key member of our commercial lending team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with our business members, identifying new business opportunities, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Commercial Lending
    • Interview and process commercial loan applications, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and accurate.
    • Conduct thorough credit analyses, including reviewing financial statements, tax returns, and other relevant data.
    • Work with our internal staff to gather data and assess business viability.
    • Efficiently process complete application packages, including screening packages against product guidelines and required documents.
  • Business Development
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with our business members, identifying new business opportunities and cross-selling products and services.
    • Attend community events and participate in seminars to promote our commercial services.
    • Develop referral networks and collaborate with other lending areas to follow up on leads.
  • Customer Service
    • Provide exceptional customer service to our business members, responding to their inquiries and resolving any issues in a timely and professional manner.
    • Communicate with members to request or provide additional information, and advise them of approval or denial.
    • Process and order all needed items to close loan and board on system, ensuring all loan conditions are met.
  • Communication and Coordination
    • Represent Westerly CCU in contacts with business professionals and borrowers, ensuring that requests, questions, and problems are courteously and professionally resolved.
    • Ensure that borrowers are appropriately informed of our services, programs, and policies.
    • Collaborate with Credit Union personnel and management to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Education and Experience
    • College degree in business, finance, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
    • Minimum of five years of related lending experience, with supervisory experience highly desirable.
    • Experience handling problem loans and loan workouts, as well as experience with the foreclosure process and related litigation.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
    • Excellent financial analysis abilities.
    • Solid communication and negotiation abilities.
    • Strong public relations skills.
    • Able to use all related computer applications and business machines.
