Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Freeport-McMoRan Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for participating in root cause analysis of equipment failures, identifying and implementing corrective actions or technologies, and ensuring continuous production is uninterrupted by equipment failures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in team efforts to analyze equipment failures and implement corrective actions
  • Conduct cost impact analysis for recommended action plans to correct downtime issues on installed equipment
  • Ensure continuous production is uninterrupted by equipment failures
  • Report on Key Performance Indices
  • Analyze current CMMS data for equipment health indicators and prepare reports
  • Perform onsite evaluation of existing processes and equipment and make recommendations for improvement
  • Serve as Project Manager or Technical Advisor on small-to-medium site Engineering projects
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering discipline
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of Mechanical Engineering
  • Able to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions
  • Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Preferred Qualifications
  • Project Management experience
  • Experience in supervising contractors
What We Offer

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $76,000-$104,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance.

Candidates may be required to pass a medical exam. Candidates must pass all required training and/or testing. Employees may be required to work a non-standard schedule, which may include shift work (other than day shift) at a 24/7, 365-day operation.
