Job Overview
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily functions of a team of technical field personnel, such as Engineering Technicians, engaged in services provided by an engineering consulting firm. These services may encompass construction material evaluation and sampling, conducted either at client locations or within the engineering project office laboratory. Offer direct supervision and guidance on assessing site conditions and addressing any issues that may arise. May also coordinate testing, scheduling, and training for field staff.

Core Duties: Supervise technical field personnel in executing testing services. Monitor daily progress of ongoing and upcoming projects. Maintain project schedule and communicate with Department Managers, Project Managers, and Office Managers regarding resource needs and project updates. Plan, schedule, and assign staff to project sites based on their skills, certifications, locations, and project priorities. Regularly update clients on the company's capability to meet project timelines and client requirements. Ensure testing is conducted according to project specifications; provide technical direction and oversight. Manage work assignments and billing processes. Facilitate training and development for technical field personnel. Assist in preparing proposals and cost estimates for clients. Participate in the recruitment and selection of technical field personnel. Understand and identify project-related risks; be knowledgeable about potential project issues and how to mitigate them. Familiarize with company risk management policies. Lead safety initiatives for the team, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and guidelines. Create and exemplify a safe working environment; promote pre-task planning for all projects. Encourage ongoing quality monitoring and enhancement in projects. Oversee quality standards and practices. Engage APRs at the beginning of projects. Provide support with testing services as necessary. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field such as Engineering or Geology is preferred. At least 4-6 years of relevant experience. Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role. Valid driver's license with a satisfactory violation history. Preferred Qualifications: Certification or licensure in the relevant field of expertise.
