Maintenance Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Manager to lead our team at Fortive Corporation. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing maintenance activities to ensure optimal performance of our facilities and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Team Management: Lead and oversee a team of maintenance and facility technicians, ensuring they have the necessary skills and resources to perform their duties effectively.
  • Maintenance Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance strategy to minimize downtime and optimize production processes.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to identify potential issues and take proactive measures to prevent equipment failures.
  • Problem-Solving: Determine the root causes of equipment failures and develop effective solutions to minimize future occurrences.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with teams from different departments to effectively implement new equipment installations or upgrades.
  • Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including equipment performance, repairs, and costs.
  • Budget Management: Manage the maintenance budget to ensure cost-effectiveness and efficient resource allocation.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Proven experience as a Maintenance Manager or a similar role in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Maintenance Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of effective maintenance methods, including strategies for prevention, repair, and upkeep.
  • Leadership Skills: Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor a team.
  • Budget Management: Proven track record to handle budgets and control maintenance costs.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Safety Knowledge: Knowledge of safety regulations.
  • Travel: Ability to travel up to 5% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Lean Manufacturing: Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Predictive Maintenance: Knowledge of predictive maintenance techniques.
  • Engineering Background: Mechanical Engineering or similar engineering background.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
  • Work Environment: Work is performed in a manufacturing facility with exposure to machinery and equipment noise.
  • Availability: Must be available for on-call duties and emergency response outside regular working hours.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand, walk, and move around the facility for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry heavy objects up to 40 lbs. as needed.
