Job Title: Demolition Concrete Laborer

Ballard Marine Construction is seeking a skilled Demolition Concrete Laborer to join our team. As a Demolition Concrete Laborer, you will assist our skilled craft personnel in performing various construction tasks to complete projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Use power tools and workers to remove unsound structures
  • Mix concrete
  • Pour or place concrete
  • Install rebar, expansion joints, or carbon fiber
  • Repair concrete structures
  • Apply finishing coat
  • Clean up the worksite when the project is complete
  • Operate and care for construction equipment and machines
  • Prep construction sites by cleaning obstacles and hazards
  • Load, unload, or identify building materials, machinery, or tools, distributing them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans or specifications
  • Measure, mark, or record openings or distances to layout areas where construction work will be performed
  • Tend pumps, compressors, or generators to provide power for tools, machinery, or equipment or to heat or move materials, such as asphalt
  • Erect or dismantle scaffolding, shoring, braces, traffic barricades, ramps, or other temporary structures
  • Sweep and clean the project site
  • Work with cranes and rigging
  • Chip, paint, sweep, and wash down equipment on the job site
  • Safely secure the work area to allow only authorized personnel onto work zone
  • Loads and unloads materials from, deck barges, and miscellaneous equipment
  • Provide assistance to craft workers, such as carpenters, plasterers, or masons
  • Follow all safety protocols when using tools and equipment
  • Performs other duties as required
Requirements:
  • High school or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • 1+ years of concrete or skilled labor experience preferred
Working Conditions:

Work is performed in the field and in all weather conditions. Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials up to 50 pounds. Ability able to tolerate, vibrations, heat, and high noise levels. Able to safely execute duties in and around heavy equipment/large machinery in marine dredging and marine construction job sites. Able to wear the personal protective equipment (PPE) required of various construction work environments (hard hats, safety glasses, personal flotation devices, respirators, etc.).
