The Press Officer will play a vital role in collaborating with media outlets to shape narratives and influence public discussions surrounding reproductive rights.
Position Responsibilities: The Press Officer will report to the Associate Director of U.S. Media Relations and will work closely with legal and program teams. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing public relations strategies for ongoing legal cases and policy initiatives.
- Translating complex legal concepts into engaging messages for media and public audiences.
- Establishing and nurturing relationships with journalists covering reproductive rights.
- Crafting press releases, official statements, and opinion pieces.
- Monitoring media trends and formulating outreach strategies accordingly.
- Preparing spokespeople for media interactions.
- Collaborating with internal teams and external partners to achieve common objectives.
- Managing media contacts and maintaining a comprehensive database.
- Executing special projects as required.
Qualifications:
- At least 8 years of experience in media relations or journalism.
- A Bachelor's Degree is mandatory.
- Demonstrated success in communications strategy development.
- Extensive experience in media and press strategy.
- Background in advocacy or legal fields is preferred.
- Exceptional writing and communication abilities.
- Familiarity with PR tools such as Cision is advantageous.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.

Compensation and Benefits: The annual salary for this position is $96,000, subject to adjustment based on locality. Benefits include comprehensive health insurance, flexible work arrangements, wellness resources, a professional development stipend, and a 401(k) contribution.
