Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Pediatric Behavioral Health Nurse Specialist to join our team at Connecticut Children's.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct professional nursing care to patients with behavioral health concerns, utilizing the nursing process to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams to promote collaborative care and achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in preceptor/mentor activities to support the professional development of colleagues and contribute to a culture of excellence in pediatric behavioral health nursing practice.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
  • Minimum two years' experience in pediatric behavioral health nursing, with expertise in assessing, planning, and implementing evidence-based interventions for patients with complex behavioral health needs.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Specialty certifications, such as CPI and PALS, may be necessary depending on departmental requirements.
Benefits:
