Responsibilities:

  • Leverage ERP/MRP systems for effective planning and procurement processes.
  • Engage in negotiations regarding cost, quantity, and delivery timelines with suppliers to secure optimal pricing and quantities for the organization.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Corporate Demand Planning to formulate a Master Production Schedule (MPS).
  • Create comprehensive production plans aligned with demand forecasts and available resources.
  • Oversee the Purchase Order lifecycle, including negotiation, creation, maintenance, and follow-up to support manufacturing operations.
  • Disseminate the MPS to the entire Operations team, ensuring successful execution of MPS and MRP runs.
  • Work closely with suppliers to investigate and resolve material shortages affecting the MPS.
  • Coordinate with inspection, receiving, and shipping teams to expedite the processing of materials requiring purchasing department attention.
  • Manage subcontracting processes and workflows when applicable.
  • Enhance business practices to minimize inventory levels and improve cycle times, lead times, and service levels.
  • Monitor supplier performance and address any delivery challenges.
  • Provide insights and feedback from suppliers regarding non-conforming materials.
  • Establish production priorities based on input from Customer Service and Corporate Demand Planning.
  • Maintain Standard Operating Procedures for the department.
  • Assess the feasibility of schedules and propose or implement alternatives when schedules exceed capacity.
  • Oversee the management of excess and obsolete inventory, ensuring appropriate review and follow-up.
  • Handle returned goods to suppliers effectively.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in Planning and Purchasing within an MRP environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Supply Chain Management, Business, or Engineering.
  • Strong analytical capabilities.
  • Experience with MRP systems and a solid understanding of operations and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in using MRP/ERP systems, with a preference for Oracle.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Experience with Medical Device ISO 13485 standards.
