Position Summary:

The Senior Human Resources Generalist plays a pivotal role in the Human Resources department, overseeing essential functions such as recruitment, payroll administration, benefits support, and employee relations. Reporting directly to the Director of Human Resources, this position works closely with the HR Manager and the broader HR team to ensure effective HR operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the recruitment process by identifying, interviewing, and hiring qualified candidates for various positions, in collaboration with departmental leaders.
  • Address employment-related inquiries from applicants and employees, ensuring timely and professional responses.
  • Monitor compliance with training and development requirements, ensuring all staff are up-to-date with necessary certifications.
  • Partner with the Professional Learning and Development team to enhance training materials and facilitate training sessions.
  • Implement and manage orientation programs for new hires and employee recognition initiatives.
  • Administer HR programs, including compensation, benefits, performance management, and workplace safety.
  • Participate in employee disciplinary processes and investigations as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to employment laws and regulations, regularly reviewing policies for compliance.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in human resources and employment law.
  • Develop and present initiatives aimed at improving employee engagement and success.
  • Assist in benefits administration and provide training on benefit utilization.
  • Collaborate with the HR Manager and Director on daily operations and special projects.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on negotiation and conflict resolution.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational capabilities.
  • Proficient in time management and able to meet deadlines effectively.

Education and Experience:

  • Experience in a fast-paced or startup environment is advantageous.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds may be required.
  • Capability to navigate various departments within the organization.
