Position Overview
This role is integral to supporting the mission of Mercy Medical Center by focusing on patient-centered data analysis. The Revenue Cycle Data Analyst will be responsible for identifying data trends, ensuring the accuracy of information, generating reports, and developing visual dashboards for various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze and maintain Revenue Cycle and Financial Analysis, reporting findings to the Director of Revenue Cycle.
  • Assist in establishing and upholding standards to evaluate the efficiency of revenue cycle operations.
  • Compile and manage statistical data for regular reports, including denial and late charge reports.
  • Provide constructive feedback to affiliates based on process analysis.
  • Support affiliates in implementing Best Practices throughout the Revenue Cycle.
  • Collaborate in team settings to share insights and ideas regarding reporting methodologies.
  • Maintain professional relationships with public stakeholders, affiliate executives, and medical staff.
  • Work alongside departmental staff to ensure compliance and standardization.
  • Utilize department systems and equipment effectively.
  • Follow all personnel policies, departmental procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Employ Slicer/Dicer functionality within EPIC and other analytical tools to identify areas for process improvement.
  • Lead compliance initiatives across the Revenue Cycle, managing stakeholder communications at all levels.
  • Oversee the research and interpretation of regulations to set compliance standards and may direct training and communication efforts related to new standards.
  • Conduct thorough analyses of Revenue Cycle functions to identify trends and communicate insights to management.
  • Ensure data integrity through collaboration with administrators and providers.
  • Prepare and enhance reports for improved accessibility.
  • Create engaging visual dashboards using tools such as Tableau and Epic.
  • Extract, transform, and load data from relational databases as needed.
  • Work with stakeholders to ascertain data requirements and needs.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting to align with organizational objectives.
  • Foster a positive workplace culture through professionalism and teamwork.
  • Assist with survey research and data collection as necessary.

Professional Experience
  • Minimum of one year in healthcare or administrative roles.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and graphics software.
  • Demonstrated history of managing detailed information effectively.
  • Experience showcasing strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Evidence of contributing positively to workplace culture.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Iowa healthcare systems and insurers.
  • Experience using Tableau Prep for data cleaning and validation.
  • Background in survey research and data collection with strong analytical skills.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Certifications
  • Certification as a Revenue Cycle Representative from the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) is required.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently.
