Key Responsibilities
  • Assist patients in understanding their benefits and payment options.
  • Utilize Epic Patient Estimator to generate financial estimates and verify eligibility.
  • Educate patients on their financial obligations and assist with payment plans.
  • Provide financial estimates to both patients and clinical departments.
  • Conduct training sessions for clinical staff on the effective use of financial estimates.
  • Manage billing inquiries and maintain correspondence with patients.
  • Work on accounts that are delinquent and require special attention.
  • Collaborate with external partners, including legal representatives, as necessary.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • No specific licensure or certification is necessary.
  • A minimum of two years' experience in healthcare insurance or related fields.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is essential.
  • Familiarity with UB-04, HCFA-1500 forms, CPT, and ICD-9 coding.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks.
  • Strong customer service skills and proficiency in computer applications.
