Role Summary:

The Assistant Retail Operations Manager will collaborate closely with the Store Manager and the leadership team to oversee various key functions within our retail establishment. Responsibilities will encompass the recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and scheduling of part-time personnel, alongside managing payroll and cash flow effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of the Assistant Retail Operations Manager include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage the recruitment process for part-time staff, collaborating with the marketing team to devise effective strategies and campaigns.
  • Conduct interviews for new hires and promotions.
  • Oversee the hiring process, ensuring compliance with all necessary protocols.
  • Facilitate an engaging and informative onboarding experience for new employees.
  • Develop and communicate weekly staffing schedules, addressing any concerns or needs.
  • Optimize staffing schedules to enhance sales efficiency, while adhering to budgetary constraints.
  • Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and facilitate training.
  • Complete daily financial deposits and ensure timely posting.
  • Participate in team meetings to assess processes and plan for upcoming events.
  • Provide on-site supervision during major events and ensure adequate staffing.

Additional Responsibilities:

Other duties may include:

  • Monitor and document staff performance regularly, conducting formal evaluations.
  • Assist in training and development initiatives for staff.
  • Evaluate training needs and implement refresher courses as necessary.
  • Enhance the customer experience by identifying areas for improvement.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team leads and associates.
  • Conduct store walkthroughs to address any operational concerns.
  • Support the planning of staff meetings and special projects.
  • Step in as needed to support team members in various roles.
