POSITION SUMMARY

The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional patient care, embodying our commitment to our Patient Promise: "We are solely dedicated to the patient. The CNS administers medical care under the guidance of the Health Center provider, tailoring services to meet the unique needs of each patient who seeks our assistance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including vital signs and preliminary assessments, while collecting both objective and subjective information.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient data and assessments, utilizing appropriate information technology for standardized record-keeping.
  • Support healthcare providers in various aspects of patient consultations, treatments, procedures, and follow-up care.
  • Implement medical protocols and nursing interventions as appropriate for the clinical environment and within the scope of practice.
  • Provide health education and counseling to patients, including engaging with families and caregivers.
  • Oversee medication management, ensuring compliance and educating patients on their treatment plans.
  • Operate and maintain medical equipment as necessary.
  • Manage medical supplies and ensure proper disposal protocols are followed.
  • Adhere to regulatory standards set forth by OSHA, CLIA, and HIPAA.
  • Assist with triaging urgent appointment requests, facilitating referrals for consultations and testing, and handling insurance pre-certifications.
  • Utilize general office skills such as data entry, filing, and communication via phone and email.
  • Exhibit outstanding customer service skills while interacting with patients, families, and caregivers.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Current RN license in the state of practice.
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a clinical nursing setting preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of nursing practices, medical procedures, and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Ability to interpret and implement the objectives, policies, and procedures of Proactive MD.
