Job Overview

Position Summary

Lockheed Martin is in search of a Senior Procurement Quality Engineer to oversee the implementation of tasks and provide quality assurance to suppliers engaged in the Rotary and Tactical Training Solutions (RTATS) initiatives within the Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) Training and Logistics (TLS) sector.

This role necessitates flexibility in working hours and involves both domestic and international travel to facilitate supplier operations and program acceptance.

As a key member of the Procurement Quality Engineering Team, this individual will serve as the primary contact and will be accountable for coordinating all efforts to guarantee superior quality and technical performance of deliverables from significant subcontractors and suppliers associated with RTATS projects.

The position entails up to 60% travel to client sites both domestically and internationally to engage in activities such as supplier testing events, oversight, device installations, inspections, and configuration audits.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct testing on high-fidelity aircraft flight simulators, aircraft maintenance trainers, logistics and depot business systems, and various training platforms.
  • Lead multiple subcontracts and suppliers to align with project/program timelines, budget, and technical specifications.
  • Perform scheduled product source inspections, first article evaluations, and product line validations at supplier facilities.
  • Provide internal and supplier assistance for root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions related to Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR).
  • Assist suppliers with program requirements, collaborating with customer needs and program management efforts.
  • Conduct ongoing surveillance of supplier compliance with Lockheed Martin requirement documents and deliver written weekly reports.
  • Act as a technical liaison for quality engineering and supplier management issues.
  • Ensure that supplier contract flow-down requirements are executed and verified, collaborating with suppliers on a daily basis.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain a security clearance.
  • Proficient in identifying and documenting quality deficiencies in suppliers and ensuring effective root cause, corrective, and preventive actions are taken.
  • Familiarity with engineering drawing requirements and mechanical and electrical inspection methodologies.
  • Basic understanding of special processes and strong skills in managing and interfacing with suppliers on a daily basis to support the program.

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • Capability to multitask, meet deadlines, and adapt to support all supplier quality field engineering activities.
  • Able to effectively communicate and collaborate with Suppliers, Quality Program Management, Engineering, Supplier Quality Management, Subcontracts Management Team, and Customer Government Representatives.
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) are essential for supporting assignments and weekly reporting.
  • Experience as a former pilot (helicopter) is a plus.
  • Background in Aircraft Avionics.
  • Experience with Visual Systems.
  • Technical Engineering Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with source inspection and surveillance activities at suppliers.
  • Familiarity with simulation training devices.
  • Experience in conducting Physical Configuration Audits.
  • Experience working closely with government clients.
  • Experience managing significant subcontractors.
  • Experience performing First Article Inspections to AS9102 standards.
  • Basic understanding of SAP and P2P business systems.

Remote Work Information

Part-time remote work is available for this position. The selected employee will have a work schedule that includes both remote and on-site responsibilities at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedule Flexibility
