Procurement Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Manager to join our growing team. The successful candidate will report directly to our Chief Administrative Officer and work closely with our Estimating, Pre-Construction, and Operations teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize quality, cost, and timely delivery criteria.
  • Collaborate with Estimating and Pre-Construction teams to coordinate supplier selection, negotiate terms and conditions, and track supplier and subcontractor performance standards.
  • Negotiate with large national suppliers to optimize the value proposition across multiple contracts.
  • Manage risk using supplier qualification, contract terms, bonding, and insurance requirements.
  • Conduct regular meetings with the Procurement team to ensure priorities are clear and the workflow is running smoothly.
  • Prepare and maintain purchasing records, produce management reports, and track the status of requisitions, contracts, and orders.
  • Conduct research to identify potential suppliers and interview prospective suppliers to determine prices, discounts, terms, and other relevant information.
  • Create reports with vendor and product or service comparisons to support management decisions.
  • Optimize the material and supplier portfolio by determining what materials should be bought in bulk and consumed as needed from inventory by projects.
  • Support and lead cost reduction efforts.
  • Recommend development and training plans for team members and evaluate their effectiveness.
  • Identify human resources requirements for the group and perform performance appraisals and goal setting for team members.
Requirements:
  • U.S. Citizenship required for security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Eight or more years of related professional experience in a comparable environment procuring related goods and services.
  • Professional knowledge of the Federal Construction industry methods and applications.
  • Professional knowledge in Construction Procurement.
  • In-depth knowledge of related governmental laws and legislation, especially the FAR.
  • Ability to manage financial resources and skilled in financial analysis.
  • Excellent people management and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated success in negotiating and influencing.
  • Excellent proficiency in MS Office products (primarily Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Engaged, proactive, resourceful, and self-motivated.
  • Possess strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
