Job Summary

Houston Methodist Cypress Hospital is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner - Acute Care Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive patient assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, and coordinate patient care with the interprofessional healthcare team.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and optimal outcomes.
  • Conduct health assessments, identify normal and abnormal health characteristics, and develop plans of care to address patient needs.
  • Prescribe medications, order tests, and perform invasive, diagnostic, or therapeutic procedures as necessary.
  • Lead and initiate outcome, quality, and safety improvement activities to enhance patient care and safety.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Nursing.
  • Two years of registered nurse, advanced practice, or nurse practitioner clinical experience.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas or Compact State Licensure within 60 days.
  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure in the State of Texas.
  • ANCC Recognized Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (not required for Employee Health, Primary Care, and Telemedicine departments).
  • Prescriptive Authority licensure in the State of Texas.
  • Narcotics License (DEA) within 6 months.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated leadership and clinical expertise in acute care settings.
  • Experience with electronic medical records and other healthcare technologies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and exercise judgment in interactions with physicians, interprofessional care teams, and patients and their families.
