Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Support Specialist to join our team at Carle Foundation Hospital. As a Healthcare Support Specialist, you will work under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality care to our patients. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with the maintenance of unit supplies, collecting data on assigned patients, and performing or assisting patients with activities of daily living.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the maintenance of unit supplies, including stocking nurse servers, cleaning instruments and equipment, ordering supplies, and making up charts.
  • Collect data on assigned patients as directed by Registered Nurse (RN) and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Perform or assist patients with activities of daily living, including preparing patients for transportation and/or transport.
  • Work closely with nursing to ensure high-quality care for the most critical adult and pediatric patients.
  • Assist with communication, updating white boards, and doing meaningful hourly rounding.
  • Float within the hospital to perform duties as needed.
  • Can be utilized as a sitter for patients with that need.
  • Assist in setting up any bedside procedure.
Requirements
  • HS Diploma/GED
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Completion of CNA coursework within the past 24 months, or successful completion of Carle's HCT In Training Program, or worked as a CNA within the past 24 months, or successful completion of at least one semester of nursing clinical experiences, or documented relevant medical military training.
